Can I fix this myself - Back door will lock but not unlock

First time I have asked anything about DIY but money is tight and wondered if I could do anything to avoid having to call someone out. My back door lock will lock ok but not unlock from the inside. If I go outside, it unlocks ok. I have tried WD40 which is about the extent of my skills and hasn't done the trick. The door is about 10 years old. Any advice would be great.

I have checked and it says ERA 5 Lever Made in England - sorry that's all I can see - is that the info you are looking for?

Yes - if you get like for like all you need is a couple of screwdrivers of the appropriate size.

If you cant find one exactly the same a different model might require a little bit of chiselling of the timbers.

Level 1 DIY - and if it all goes wrong, just put the old one back in.

That's the length of the "bolt" ( sorry, not sure of the correct terminology ! ). But the bit that actually does the locking, if you get what I mean. Just measure the existing one, from the centre of the lock to the end of the bolt ( the bit that shoots into the door frame ).
