Tesco - Prices Down & Staying Down

I went into my local Tesco store yesterday and noticed at the door a large poster declaring "Prices Down & Staying Down"
There were about 4 items specified on the poster, the first of which was 4 pints of milk for £1. Also on the poster was 6 salad tomatoes for 69p, previously £1.
When I went to look at the fruit & veg, I saw the 6 pack of salad tomatoes. The SEL indeed indicated they were originally priced at £1 but currently cost 69p
But it also said offer ends 9th March 2014.

and? They are subject to market forces like anyone else.
So when would you have an end date? 2020?0 -

Ha, ha - that would be nice
I don't know how long such prices should be held, but it appears the promotion only started Monday and I would have hoped with a slogan "Prices Down & Staying Down" the price reductions would have been planned to remain for longer than just a week.
There was no indication on the poster some/all of the deals were only valid for 1 week.0 -

Seems hardly worth the cost of making up the posters. I would expect this offer to run indefinately (ie. for at least a few months). Prices down and staying down indicates they wont be going up after a week! Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'

and what will the price be on the 10th?
I don't know!
The SEL simply has that the price was £1, but is on offer at 69p, and that the offer ends today.
My guess is they will return to the usual price of £1
But who knows, perhaps they will be more ???
If I had a crystal ball I'd tell you. I suggest you pop along to your local tesco store tomorrow and find out if you are interested.0 -

At £1 per kilo, did the onions come in gold leaf bags?0

Checking online, salad tomatoes are still 69p today, cooking onions are 79p and mixed peppers are 99p, so they have stayed downDon't Panic - and carry a towel

In case anyone wants onions at a decent price (not Tesco), Lidl have a 5kg pack for £1.39 from tomorrow for a week - 28p per kg. Makes Tesco's 79p per kg prices going down look abit naff doesn't it.
You only need to eat 2 kgs to be saving money. Plus onions covered up in a cardboard box with newspaper in a cool place, like a garage, lasts for months.0
