Horizon Parking

agreed , its not "OVER" until you get it in writing , many people have assumed that its over when told so by managers verbally, then lost their chances to appeal and quash the parking charge when they find out (too late) that its not been cancelled
so assume it is NOT cancelled until you get something in writing that it IS cancelled0 -
Despite holding a blue badge and parking in a disabled parking space I recently received a PCN at the Sainsburys Carpark in Bletchley Milton Keynes.
The management of the parking was taken over by Horizon and signs put up advising that blue badges must be displayed else a PCN wOuld be issued.
However, no where in the parking lot does it tell disabled drivers that they must register their car number plate and show their blue badge to the Customer Service counter in Sainsbury else Horizon would issue them an £80 PCN.
This is both dishonest and disgraceful. Sainsburys is not the only shop attached to the parking so people have no way of knowing to register their car, further, Sainsburys does not tell customers to register, more dishonesty.
I have attached a picture of the signage displayed in the carpark. When I rang Sainsburys to query this they had never heard of customers having to register their cars.
Someone is lying!!

Horizon Parking is just another "get rich scheme" for the owners.
I got a notice when shopping in TESCO, yes, even the great Tesco have stooped so low to use these "cowboys"
The ticket said "i was not parked wholly in a parking bay"
The picture they sent clearly shows I was in the parking bay.
Must have been taken by a blind warden. a numskull more like.
These cowboys rely on people just accepting and paying them
Invoice rejected as a false statement and a money scam.
Do remember folks these scum are only private parking companies with no more legal rights than you.
The BIG question for everyone must be ... did you give the DVLA permission to provide private and personal information to these cowboys, of course not. These cowboys pay the DVLA who freely provide information, what happened to the Data Protection Act ??
This is even worse than the massive "charities" scam.
The story will continue ......0 -
Parking companies PAY the DVLA £2.50 FOR INFORMATION ABOUT YOU AND YOU CAR.
THE BBC SAY
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-27132077
The number of electronic requests for personal details from the DVLA made by parking companies has gone up from 1,897,572 in 2012/13 to 2,430,130 in 2013/14. The amount paid by the firms to the DVLA went up £4,743,930 to £6,075,325, figures suggest.
The DVLA made a surplus on its fees income of £10.3m, according to its most recent accounts.
DID YOU GIVE THE DVLA PERMISSION TO RELEASE INFORMATION
A DVLA spokeswoman said: "We take our responsibility to protect information seriously.
"That is why information is only provided under strict controls to parking firms who meet the standards set by an appropriate Accredited Trade Association and are compliant with its Code of Practice.
"If it is brought to our attention that a company does not meet the necessary standards, we will investigate. If the allegations are proven we will stop the release of keeper information to them.
"We do not aim to make a profit on this service - the fee merely covers the cost of processing the applications."
WHAT A LOT OF GOVERNMENT RUBBISH
Emma Carr, deputy director of civil liberties group Big Brother Watch, said: "The scale of this trade in personal information should be of deep concern to every motorist in the country.
"The DVLA has a direct financial interest in more people having access to our data, so it's little wonder that the amount of revenue has risen since last year.
"With the information being of such great value, the government must ensure that there are appropriate deterrents for anyone who wishes to abuse access to this information, including the threat of a prison sentence."
THE DVLA ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED.
You have the right to advise/request the DVLA -- NOT to pass your private and personal information to private companies. If they ignore this, they are and will be subject to prosecution under the data protection act. It's then government V government
All private parking companies must be restricted and not allowed to private information0 -

At £2.50 a pop, times by 1-2-3 miilion, The DVLA are worse than the scam companies0 -
Don't know if this is the correct place for this, but hopefully this follows on within the "Horizon Parking" thread.
Background;
On 23 Nov 2015 I received a letter from "Debt Recovery Plus" or DRP, demanding that I pay a fine of £110 for an outstanding Parking Charge Notice from Sept 2015 for overstaying in the pay and display carpark of my local Sainsburys.
I was not aware of this charge in the first place, there was no sticker on the window when I returned to the car, and I had not received anything from Horizon Parking (who operate this particular carpark).
I have since written to Horizon Parking appealing the charge, after getting their info off the internet .
The only time I remember staying in this carpark in September was when I was made late for an appointment because the checkouts were particularly undermanned and I spent a good 20-30mins getting through them because of the queues being so ridiculously long!
Since my appeal letter (sent the day after receiving the demand from DRP, a good 2 weeks ago) I have still had no response from Horizon Parking, but instead got another from DRP giving "notice of intended court action".
Are Horizon (or any other parking company) allowed to ignore my appeal with no response whatsoever? And can DRP collect a charge while their is an ongoing appeal?0 -

It isn't - You clearly agreed not to hijack threads as part of your signup!
What you really need to do is have a good read of the Newbies Sticky at the head of this forum and pay particular attention to Post Four as it explains the DRP stage in detail.
Beyond that, complaining to Sainsburys themselves will probably be a far more productive option than dealing with Horizon - you will be long past any "appeal" deadline they are likely to offer.0
