Oh dear, poop pup now has an open wound!

My 16 month old malamute was neutered on Wednesday, everything went well and check up this morning said the site was a little red but nothing to worry about.
Tonight he rolled over for a tummy rub and the wound is wide open, with some sort of stringy tissue (as in fleshy tissue) coming out.
It doesn't seem to be bothering him, and he's wore his flattering head cone since the op so I'm not sure how it's opened, but obviously it needs sorting.
My vet is a small local vet with no website and just a landline. I have no idea if anybody will answer on a Sunday. I'm not sure what to do! Will I be ok to just leave the wound tonight, then try and call tomorrow? Will it cost me a fortune for an emergency appointment? Can it hold off until Monday if I cover the area? I'm reading conflicting things online, and obviously need a vet to look at it, but I'm worried about my poor lad and scared that I won't be able to afford to fix him before Monday!

We can't give you advice about an open wound on here!
It could be fine or it could be extremely serious and need immediate attention, so you need to ring a vet, now.0 -
Ditto above. Ring the number, you'll soon find out if they answer or not0

I've tried a few times and no answer so spoke to an emergency vet, just waiting for a call back.
I'm clearly more worried than he is - he's quite happily chasing a fly buzzing around the room while I try to keep him still!
I do know an Internet forum isn't where I should be looking for veterinary advice, but panic means you look for help wherever you can! Thanks

Currently sitting in the emergency vet, thankfully no sign of infection or anything nasty so they've put him under to sew it back up. Panic over and now a long few hours to wait.
I'm glad I checked up on it before going to bed because I wouldn't have known a thing was wrong judging by his behaviour. Hopefully we won't be too long, and my bank balance won't take a drastically massive hit!
Lovely staff though. Cup of tea and everything

Thanks everyone. He's feeling sorry for himself this morning, but is looking quite fetching in his new glittery buster collar and isn't saying no to treats. Mals don't like anaesthetic so he's still very droopy, but hopefully he'll come round a bit through the day and we can have a little trot out.
They stitched him back up with three layers of stitching, so hopefully we won't have a repeat of last night. It does make me wonder why they only used the one layer of dissolvable stitches the first time though.
£300 for the emergency op, going to call the insurance tomorrow to see if it's covered but I'm not holding out much hope. There goes my new couch for a few more months! There were a couple of very sad cases in there last night so despite the cost, I can't help but feel lucky that it wasn't anything worse.0 -
In your shoes I would be tempted to review the service offered by the original vet as you should be able to have 24 hour cover.0

And have them cover the cost I would have thought!0
