Vents for Shed

Hi All,

I'm trying to increase airflow in my shed to avoid damp/mould problems.

I'm thinking Tricket Vents (like above windows) would be sensible to go for, not too big, cheap & easy to fit.

Any one think that would be worth doing?

When you say 'shed,' do you mean wooden garden shed? If so, it'll be full of 'vents' anyway, where there are gaps between the lats. They're not built to be air tight tbh. Probably best to store things that require dry conditions indoors somewhere.

Yes, timber shed - ship lap t&g.

On a previous shed I had damp problems so I'm thinking ventilation will help

you shouldn't need vents if the shed is water tight, well maintained and off the ground

It has been a bad year for sheds . The constant rain and high winds have caused a lot of abnormal damp ingress . Have a good look around inside to see if there are any obvious leaks and seal any you can find and make sure the roof does not need re-felting . Now dryer weather is here unpack the shed and wipe over the tools and boxes and leave door and window open as much as you can when it is dry in order to get the insides to dry out.

either cut out or drill various holes before fitting.

That logs big though... Hence why I was looking at long & thin trickle vents.
