Need to provide proof of ID

I am tied into a very complicated house trusteeship. The house is currently being sold but, due to personal safety issues, I have managed to persuade the solicitor to accept a proof of id from another solicitor in order to avoid disclosing my address to the other family members concerned in the trust.
I will make a few phone calls on Monday but does anyone know how much it might be?
Thanks

I'm assuming were talking about your driving license ... can't you just scan it and black out the address on paint? I assume that would be acceptable since it's the long code they need to check its valid nothing to do with the address.People don't know what they want until you show them.0

I need a solicitor to look at the originals and then write to the original solicitor to verify my identity without the original solicitor seeing the documents at all.It aint over til I've done singing....0

We are buying a house (slightly different situation obviously but still involved solicitor/ID doc stuff) and the solicitor at one point suggested if we were too busy to come in and drop our ID off to verify our identity, then she could instead charge us £6 per person to remotely verify our identity instead using their own system.
So I should have thought most solicitors would have access to some sort Of ID checking service for a small fee and it's probably worth you enquiring about this with your solicitor. Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

Why not use your passport as proof of ID as this doesnt have your address on it?
You could possibly do it all via an affidavit in which case you'd need a public notary (which many solicitors are). If you can write the affidavit itself then there is just a nominal charge for them witnessing it/ verifying any supporting documents. From memory when I had to do one for my irish citizenship it was something like £7 and £1 per document to be witnessed.
If you cannot do it via this route or need them to actually word the affidavit then you are in the space of general solicitor costs. Probably sensible to say a 1/2hr task and ~£250+VAT as the hourly rate0 -
I'm assuming you have a new name you don't want known?. . .I did not speak out
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me..
