Pinterest copy cats...I have had enough!

Thank you all . I think the only way forward is to keep my board private and set a reminder on my phone. Although the person that did copy was genuine and did apologise which was nice

I only keep my board private until the closing date then I release it and link it, but I don't do that many comps on Pinterest anymore.

That's pretty rubbish, I never realised people did that it just goes to show how low some will stoop. I suck at pinterest comps, I always forget the end date and delete the board thinking the comp is over or leave it up for a ridiculously long amount of time! But I love pinterest as a virtual pin board, some of the things you find are insane.

Its really bad isn't it. I've only entered a couple of competitions on pinterest. They're too much of a faff for me.. but I'd be really angry if someone stole my board... then won!!

Someone mentioned watermarking, I don't think you'd be able to do that unless you took the photo. So I think making the board private is the best way to go about it... again though, such a faff!

Last time it happened to me I commented on one of the repins of my pins that the pins (for this particular competition) had to be taken from the website. They apologised but then a day later pinched another pin of mine from a different comp, I'd forgotten to block them!

That's shocking jaibaby that the company wasn't interested that someone had blatantly cheated!

Yes this is a problem I know only too well as I posted pretty much an identical thread to you a few months back!.
I've had people repeatedly Repinning my competition boards effectively meaning we then both have the same entry for the same competition and therefore cancelling us both out (assumed it's a judged competition).
This problem has increased over the last 12 months and was particularly bad at Christmas when I was up at 6am redoing my board for a comp that closed that morning after someone else Repinned all the pics to use on their same competition board - even submitting last min didn't work as the person started Repinning at 11pm ish. I got email notification my pins were Repinned and by that time was too tired but was up early anyway with my young son so redid the board at 6am.

I submitted a board at 11am today for a competition and 10 mins ago (less than an hour after I submitted it) the notifications started people Repinning my comp board into their own comp boards for some competition. I've blocked the pinners but it may not be enough :-(
