Hi my son is in the middle of revision for GCSEs and finds it easier to remember text if he hears it and reads it at the same time.
Is there a free download that will 'read aloud' word documents that can be recommended?

Which version of Office do you have?
Looks like it's already built-in in versions 2010 and later:
