HL - Delay Dealing Funds

This may be normal but I placed a fund deal (buying Investec Smaller Cos) using HL on Monday and on Friday its status was still 'Submitted for dealing' i.e. it is in process and can't be cancelled. That's almost 5 working days and other fund deals I've placed with HL this week have gone through no problem. Is the delay perhaps influenced by the fund being invested in?

Give them a call - 48 hours is the longest I've had.

I've had a few take up to a week - no harm in a call though.

Like catapult, I have noticed an unusual delay over the past week with HL on dealing in a few of the new 'super clean funds' including legal and general index funds. Not sure if this is a reason, but like ctdctd I have not experienced delays of more than two days previously. I will wait until early next and contact HL if not dealt by Tuesday.

It often takes them a few days to register a fund transaction but I've always got the price for my intended trading date.

I did have an exception last month when they took over two weeks to trade one of my funds, but they admitted it was their mistake and credited me with the correct number of units, so no harm done.

One of the biggest benefits of HL is the way they answer calls within 10 seconds and can usually deal with your question there and then, i.e. quicker than it takes to post a new thread on here ;)

Perhaps they are preoccupied with people transferring out to cheaper providers?

In my experience Marlborough funds are usually slow to deal, the delay hasn't been with HL.

I have noticed a serious deterioration in their service over the past couple of weeks.

When is the valuation point? Some funds only deal once per week. Ruffer ones spring to mind, but I'm sure there are others.
I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.
