Why is it that when viewing YouTube video's on tablets, invariably buffering occurs?.

This is down to your internet connection and if anyone else is using the wifi taking up all the bandwidth. If you have a games console connected via ethernet even when it is off it is using 100mbps so unplug the ethernet cable and you should get less buffering and try watching all vids in 360p.Why is it that when viewing YouTube video's on tablets, invariably buffering occurs?.0 -
Also in your router settings change your wireless channel to 7 or 11.0

Thanks. What drew me to make this post, is that a neighbour recently bought a second hand AsusEEE pad 10" screen and they wondered why the buffering occurred. I told them that as the battery level light was blinking, it needed charging. I have yet to establish if things improved.
But, it is ironical that late last night when planning to view a YouTube mine too buffered and I noticed the battery level was low'ish.
Coincidentally, I have a spellchecker, but it seems to be American spellings as it underlines such as neighbour. Yet when I enter neighbour in Google, it doesn't pick it up.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I have buffering if I try and use the youtube app but if I just play thing off the youtube web site things run much better. I don't know why.Nothing to see here, move along.0

I find YouTube to be unwatchable on both PCs (one connected via Ethernet to the router, one wireless), but the iPads are smooth as silk.0

OP here. My neighbour who came to me with this problem seems to have sorted it out. It seems that when they watch YouTube, it is in HD, if they touch the HD button, it reverts to whatever, and the video runs without buffering.
I appreciate that I have explained it far from technically, but if it's taken OFF HD, then it streams fine. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
