abbey say no.....

i sent my second letter to abbey along with all the relevent statements etc, recorded delivery a good while ago. anyhoo got a letter back saying that they wouldnt refund as i knew when i opened the account what their charges would be. i followed martin's advice and was about to go on to the next stage but i cant find the copies of the statements. i feel like such a gonk. its not a huge amount of money but thats not the point. we had quite a bit of decorating done and everything was upside down and i cant remember where all the paperwork has gone. never mind i'll have to let it go. boo hoo

Stop looking for them and they will turn up.

In all likelihood you will not need the statements again - as long as you still have the list of charges on your computer.

i've looked high and low but the fairy that lives here has taken them somewhere... as for list of charges on the computor, our old computor died a few weeks back and guess what i havent got them anymore. im really annoyed, as i started the ball rolling and i feel i've been cheated. i dont think i could start this up all over again. i'm just gonna have to let it go. thanks for the replies.

Now let's not be silly, shall we. This is just a minor drawback on the road to success. As Twinkly says, send off another SAR for your statements, that will only cost you £10 and then you are back on track again. And I guarantee you, the moment you send the SAR off, you find the statements. It's always like that, LOL.

I did exactly the same thing and its a pain in the !!!.

Maybe Abbey have got someone sneaking around pinching peoples statements.

Anyway I have decided to request the statements again, although this will delay the whole process at least when I get them I can be confident that I have all the paperwork required should I need it later.

Sods law will say the original statements will turn up the day you receive your new ones.

Good luck, keep me updated on your progress, we are at the exact same stage after all.
