Chasing Capital One PPI

Hi, sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, but I've done some searches and can't find anything.
I made a PPI complaint to Capital One for a credit card I had when I was a student - did this back in September 2013. They wrote to me and said they would respond within 8 weeks. Its now March 2014 and nothing so I phoned the number on the letter, to discover that you can't proceed to speak to anyone unless you have a card number.
I no longer have the card as it was when I was a student (over ten years ago). I've looked on the site and all the numbers are for account holders.
Does anyone have another way of contacting them about my claim?
Thanks for help
Jenny

You have contacted them with your complaint. The contact number is not the problem. The problem is that they cannot find your records and need an account number. So, you either supply them this or anything else they suggest that may help find you or if you dont believe them then spend £10 and do a data subject access request.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I'm pretty sure if you dont give any account number or say anything, it then defaults (or at least gives you the option) to speak to a customer services advisor.
Or you could just write to them again0
