Car Warranty Mis-Selling?

Good afternoon everybody,

I'm hoping somebody could help me with a bit of advice.

I bought a second hand 9 seater minibus February 2013 and also the garage sold me a 6 month RAC warranty at £200. The same garage also phoned me in July 2013 asking if i'd like a further 12 months for £300. I also took this out.

Last week, I needed some work doing but the garage phoned the RAC and they now know its a Taxi and wouldn't pay. I'm not sure how they knew, maybe the garage let it slip. Anyway, it does state in the T&C's that the warranty is invalid for Hire and Reward. My fault 100% as I should have read it.

My query is, should I have been sold it in the first place? I phoned the Garage and they said no way would they sell it knowing it was invalid. However, the salesman of the bus knew full well why I was buying it because he even said to me that when he spoke to the finance company, that I had 7 kids because they wouldn't finance a vehicle used for Taxiing. I also know 100% I asked the sales girl that phoned me in July for the extension, if it covered hire and reward. ''Yes, as long as you service the vehicle at the times stated.''

The garage has since phoned me back with a !!!! and bull story saying there is nothing they can do but if I give them a call in Autumn, they will try and get me a newer vehicle and knock £300 off it as a good will gesture. Now this made me wonder if they have the phone conversation where I asked about if Taxi's are covered, as he did say they record all phone calls.

So basically, if it is my work against theirs, do I have a chance? Or should I put it down to experience?

Sorry if it's a bit long winded, I've tried to cover everything and appreciate any advice anyone can give.
