Esa support group

Just received my award which says I have been put into the support group without a wca, how do I find out how long the award is for before reassessment, I can't see anything in the letter.

Phone or write to the office that sent the award letter, and ask for an ESA85A to be sent to you, as you didn't have a medical (ESA85 is the form, if you had of)

On that, you will see what descriptor put you into SG, what the 'prognosis for possible return to work' is, and recommended review time.

Well done on a good result!

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

Thank you for the info, it was a migration from ib and to be honest I was fully expecting to have to at least attend a wca

Is there a time limit for asking for an ESA85A? x

    No.
However - I would probably recommend instead getting a full copy of your file, and doing this approximately yearly.

    This is free.
The DWP routinely shred documentation that they have 'no buisness case' for.
This can be useful in case you later need to refer to it in order to confirm information.

It is unlikely that DWP will discard anything within 13 months of a decision, as revision is possible up to 13 months from a decision though is subject to a requirement to show good cause for the late request after 1 month.

I'm sure this was behind your suggestion to request your files every year if there's been any relevant activity.
