Nope it quite clearly shows that Natwest is the clearing bank, but the account is a Derbyshire Building Society account and nothing to with Nationwide!

Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.

Nationwide took over Derbyshire a couple of years ago.

Yes, Derbyshire is part of Nationwide.

I assume it's a legacy from before the merger - i.e. whilst Nationwide is a clearing bank (well, building society), Derbyshire wasn't, so they outsourced payments to Natwest.

And Nationwide just haven't changed it over to their own systems, but still continue to use the old Natwest account for Derbyshire payments.

    Exactly this.

Nationwide merged with (took over) Derbyshire and Cheshire Societies at the same time but have kept their names for marketing purposes.
