AVS Video Editor - advice needed

I am using the trial version to edit some home video and it seems fine.
I am being put off from purchasing the full version by some of the reviews .
Does anyone have experience of this product?

There is a powerful free video editing tool Lightworks it used to be avid vs them, avid won, Lightworks went open source and is getting a lot of popular interest again.

I haven't used the video editor but have used DVD copier, Cover Creator, Video Convertor, etc. They're all pretty good titles and you purchase the whole suite (with lifetime updates) for £35!

    Well worth it.
