John Lewis won't repair or replace my new TV

I'm shocked at all this! I have always thought John Lewis was one of the few companies that stood out for their excellent customer service. Doesn't seem to be the case here.0

Really?
Based on:
One customer who had a bit of a battle but received a replacement TV.
Another customer who is getting irate because his (non-guaranteed) delivery hasn't been made within the anticipated timescale and because they haven't called back as promptly as he would like.
Two customers who were/are unhappy, one of whom has had a satisfactory resolution.
What about the positive stories re JL customer service? Like mine. First post here was about an out of warranty breakdown of a tumble-dryer. JL were fantastic, polite, helpful and paid for the repair in full.
The company's profits show they must be doing something right!0
