sick pay housing benefit

Hi guys,

Been droppped a bombshell today.
I'll be receiving ssp instead of full sick pay for this month.

I am not allowed to use my holiday instead.

This means I will be paid circa 400 instead of 1600.

My wife earns 668 after tax, we have one child. Will I be able to get housing benefit for this period of sickness?

Thank you

I know you've looked at calculators and were talking about starting self-employment as soon as you lost your full sick pay, is this not the case now?

The self employment route has gone due to a family disagreement. Me and dad were to work together. Can't any longer.

I am still employed just on sick leave. I will be leaving soon. I hand my notice in tomorrow but as my notice is 4 weeks I will go into next pay period so won't receive my holiday pay until then. Once I leave work I will apply for esa and will get he then. It's just next month that's the issue.

    Any help appreciated

Search for your LA website and do the online calculator for housing benefit.

You will be entitled due to income but no idea how much.
