Nationwide Car Insurance help

Options
Hi all

If I receive a cheaper quote on the actual website (as a new customer) rather than from the renewal form (since I'm with them at the moment), and I send off/e-mail them the no-claims discount, will it pose any problems ?

For example, the NCB form is actually their own. If they find out I've gone on to their website for a brand new quote as a new customer, will they honour the new price or will they stick with the renewal figure they're going to send me ?

Thanks in advance.

Phone them and see if they will pricematch themselves, most do, that avoids the claims issues that being a new customer can create (less of an issue for Motor than Home generally).

If they wont then tell them you want that to lapse the existing policy and you go online and buy it again as a new customer and they have to honour that price.

    Thanks.

And they can't turn around and say 'you're not allowed to go on the website for a new, cheaper quote because you're already on our books'... ?

Read the terms and conditions/ assumptions on their site. If these dont mention it then they cant add it on after you've already clicked the pay button.

You could be blocked from cashback from the likes of Quidco etc but thats a different matter
