Bought house - Proof of ownership?

Hopefully theres no such thing as a stupid question! So..
We recently bought a house with a mortgage. Have collected keys and moved in, however we have not received any documentation to show we actually live there.
As the house is mortgaged, will the bank have this in their possession? Or should we have received anything?
Many thanks.

Your solicitors will have to register the deed that transferred the property to you and the mortgage to your lender at the Land Registry and when that is done they will get a set of Land Registry entries showing your names as registered proprietors. Most solicitors will send you a copy .
This process takes several weeks.
Ask your solicitors for the copies when they are available.RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0 -

It has now been exactly 2 months since we purchased the property. Is this a normal period to be waiting or should I chase the solicitors?
Thanks!0 -

a bit longer than normal I think.
you can check out the title on the land registry website quickly if your solicitor doesn't give you an immediate answer (small cost)0 -
If you want to check, you can download a copy from the link below for £3.

I completed on the 4th November and got my deeds etc on the 19th December - and my solicitor does not rush. She is very good & very thorough, but not speedy.
So I'm guessing that 2 months is a longish time[STRIKE]DFW Nerd number 729[/STRIKE]Debt Free & Proud0 -
Our deeds were lkept by out mortgage company until we paid it off ..when they were returned to us.Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...

Deeds are electronic nowadays, so in this case won't be kept by the lender.0 -

Chase the solicitors. I had to do it on both properties we've purchased, as most move at a snails pace once any pressure is removed - I then got an inch thick folder through with a copy of all the paperwork and documents to keep safe for when we sold next time.
Like you, the first time I wasn't sure about how it worked and it was 6 months before I asked.0 -
So a good 10 months after purchasing the property and our solicitor has finally posted through a copy of the land registry records.0
