Passport turn around times?

Hi,
Im travelling to Dubai on 27th March for the World Cup of Horse racing(a 40th birthday pressie from my brother!!!).
Looked at my passport and to my horror it was close to expiry.
Went down to the post office and used the check and send service on Monday morning to renew.
Does anyone know how long the passport people are taking to turn around renwals at the moment? I know they say a minium of three weeks but I was hopeful that they are not too busy just now and it will get back to me alot sooner.....just to calm my nerves!!!

Renewed my daughters mid January and it took 2 weeks, we said if the worst came to the worst we'd go to Liverpool and fetch it but it was back in time.

I posted two passport renewals last Friday by recorded delivery. Payment was taken yesterday so I am hopeful of receiving them very shortly.

Would have been safer to use one of the accelerated services but hopefully you should be ok. A colleague just did theirs and it took 3 weeks door to door

Have just had a renewal back in less than two weeks, the canceled one was returned yesterday in a separate envelope at exactly two weeks.

    Good luck

did you renew through the post office - worth paying the extra for the check and send - as when I went to do DD's renewal, I had missed a cross in the box which if had gone to the passport office would have been returned.

    Have a fab time.

(I've just gone through the panic with a Via for Goa.. had no nails left but was super quick) x

I did mine I think around this time last year and it was back within 1 week.
  • Hi l did check and send on 18th February, got text from passport office on 20th to say it had been received then l got it on 3rd march. Was also told it would take 3 weeks but l imagine it is quiet this time of year so l'm sure you'll get it back in plenty of time :)
