The trouble is, I had already read it and there was no mention of *when* the Financial Ombudsman should be contacted, certainly not that anyone should do so before the bank has been given time to send their final response. Since the fact that a final response should be obtained before contacting them had been alluded to earlier in the thread by others, including myself, that piece of information did not need repeating. You are either seeing things that aren't there, or your inference mechanism is faulty.
