Thanks, the roof is ok - a few loose tiles. At the moment it has 2 boilers.... a newish one for the ground floor and a prehistoric one for the 1st & 2nd floors.
you could find out if they have been regularly serviced - althoug be wary a vendor may bend the truth (like ours did!), so might be worth getting the opinion of a pro.0 -
be careful though , you would have presumably seen the prehistoric boiler , for example , on viewing and subsequently the EA and Vendor probably wont appreciate your changing offer price based on it needing replacingNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

My main concern is the chimneys - does anyone know how/which trade can sort chimney damp?0 -
To be honest all of that sounds to me like pretty standard stuff for a victorian house, and maybe even better than you could expect (I bought one four years ago built in 1895). If I was the vendor I would not countenance any price reduction unless I was desperate for a sale.0

Thanks for the positive there. We've got the house at a very good price so I don't think the vendor would knock any more off.0 -
