Removals - container storage delivery.

I think that I have been incredibly naive here, but..
If you have removals and ask them to put a container in storage, would you expect the quote to include (redelivery of container to destination)?
We moved into rented in November - expecting (at the time) to move back out again in January, in the same city (small city). Because our first move was temporary, we decided to fill a container with furniture (which wouldn't fit in the rental house) and things. Removals firm new of these intentions when we did the quote, but quote was done for the move (packing, loading, moving, unpacking) and the "cost per container" for storage. Naively I assumed that this included the delivery of the storage container when the time came (well it did include taking it away to the storage facility, so one would assume that it included moving it back again...).
Now I have phoned to arrange delivery of the container, the company is talking about delivery cost and I was very surprised.
Is this normal? I assume that I am being "optimistically naive"...

Sadly yes it is normal for them to charge for it to be delivered back to you again. we did similar thing to you a few years back and we had to pay for the removal, the storage then the delivery again. Such an expensive thing but worth it :-)0

Would have thought it normal, they don't know where you'll be living when you eventually want the container delivered so can't charge for that until it happens. You could have moved a few times and be living 200 miles away by the time you need it.0

Thanks both, it DOES make sense, but completely caught me by surprise - doh!0
