Lloyds offer

Hi all,
New to this so looking for some advice please.
I rang Lloyds to set the ball rolling for my PPI claim, they sent out a questionnaire which I filled in and returned and didn't hear anything back. I have now received a letter quoting another letter from an earlier date (which I haven't received) with a cheque and referencing to an offer to settle the claim. It also says that the complaint is now closed.
The offer is for just over £300 so not a great deal of money, I'm intrigued as to what the letter in between might have said previously.
What are my options from here?
Thanks in advance.

It was likely to be the same offer.
Thanks in advance.
Do you have statements , you will see the PPI so able to tell if this is a fair offer.Light travels faster than sound.
This is why some people seem as bright until you hear them.0 -
The "missing" letter most likely contained their offer and explained how they had arrived at their decision and will have asked asked if you accepted it, with a time limit for your response. As you did not reply they assume you agree with the decision.0

The other letter will just have been an acknowledgement of receipt of your complaint. It will have stated that they have eight weeks to consider it.I'm intrigued as to what the letter in between might have said previously.
You can either cash the cheque or you can dispute the amount offered (but only take the latter action if you have verifiable evidence that you paid more). What are my options from here?
Do note that redress is defined and you cannot negotiate. You'll only ever receive a refund of the PPI you actually paid plus attendant interest and 8% simple interest.
From what you say, it doesn't look as if you paid very much...0 -
I've not seen any instances reported of that happening, although some banks have certainly paid the redress simultaneously to sending the offer letter. I think the "missing" letter will just be the acknowledgement...societys_child wrote: »As you did not reply they assume you agree with the decision.0 -
That'd be me, skim reading . . . mixed up which letter was which . . .:oI have now received a letter quoting another letter from an earlier date (which I haven't received) with a cheque and referencing to an offer to settle the claim
(If you remove words "with a cheque" from the above quote, you'll see how I got it so wrong . . .)0
