Morning all! I've just acquired a Hudl and it's fine, can do things I expected it to but there are 2 problems with it that I hope someone can help with.
1 - volume. On some things the volume is really low, for example I wanted to listen to a talkingbook on a long car journey and just couldn't hear it over the sound of the road and car. The other day I had to hold it to my ear to hear sound on a tv programme. Some applications are fine but others not. I've got a little 'tennis ball' style ext speaker which works great on my laptop and iphone, but for some reason doesn't work on the Hudl.
2 - timer. I like listening to talking books as mentioned, and with my iphone can set the timer to switch off after say 30 mins when I'm listening in bed. I can't see how to do this on the Hudl. There's a timer but after the 30 mins it rings a bell, doesn't switch off (definitely no good if I'm going to sleep!) I'm a bit fed up with waking at 3am to find the book's still merrily reading away and we're up to chapter 27!
There are probably simple fixes or something I can download to sort this, just my ignorance really. I should maybe have saved up for an ipad, at least I would know what I'm doing!
Many thanks. Liz

Have a look on Google Play for volume booster and sleep timer apps.0

Thanks yes I had a look but the volume boosters all seem to have poor reviews or otherwise just turn the existing vol to maximum which I can do myself. Can anyone recommend one then?
I'll have a look for the sleep timer, thanks, I didn't think of that as a search term, no wonder I couldn't understand why I was getting the wrong kind of timer all the time. I imagined though that it would be something built in to the Hudl, rather than something extra I'd have to get
Thanks for the ideas.0
