Laying bad eggs instead of nest eggs

  • Continue to plod along, excited that I have just over £200 in my savings account . This is my £2 a day account , to pay for christmas. This is the 3rd year I have tried it, the past 2 years I broke into it and never got anywhere near christmas !

It may seem daft saving when I have so much debt to clear but I want to prove to myself that I can save, I want to have that positive feeling at christmas that I can spend without worry of not having enough money to buy it all . Plus I really don't notice the £2 a day, I transfer £14 on a Monday . Just need to stay strong and not break into it.

Have had a couple of spends this week due to the DCs being off school, a few treats but after the bank holiday weekend I hope to get back on track .

  • Spent £20 on plants for my tubs, garden had a huge tidy up yesterday but lacks colour.

Fried eggs for breakfast, courtesy of the chooks, they are laying really well , which saves me a couple of pounds a week as we use a lot of eggs.

Have no plans for the bank holiday weekend, just pottering about, catching up on ironing, housework & some more gardening.

  • Completely forgot two annual direct debits  so because of this lack of organisation , I am now £174 overdrawn :o . So annoyed with myself, I do have a free overdraft facility of £200 but I have not been overdrawn for months .

Seems like I take a step forward, but 3 steps back .....
