Obtaining a refund from Amazon Local

I bought a voucher for LoveFilm from Amazon Local but forgot to use it within the allotted time. My fault, no excuses.
I've been told I cannot have a refund or credit note.
They quoted "After 7th January 2014, the paid and promotional value of the voucher will expire."
So basically I gave Amazon £10 which they have banked.
Is there anyway of getting this back?

No chance at all to get it back, you said yourself it was your fault you forgot to use it.
It would be the same as you buying a bottle of milk with a use by date, forgetting about it and then wanting a new in date bottle or a refund.0 -
No harm in asking but its unlikely as you should have used it before 7/01/14.0

I think it's more like me buying a bottle of milk and leaving it in the shop. Then going back with the receipt and asking for a replacement or refund.0 -

But if you went back to the shop 2 months after buying the milk and leaving it there, what do you think their answer would be?0
