help re car insurance/a recent crash

Long story but basically my current car insurance is up at the end of the month, The problem is recently I was involved in a car accident, I've reported it and its a no fault claim (other driver has happily admitted it was their fault) and I'm awaiting their insurer to assess the cost of damage to my car as it may be written off due to the cost of repairs from quotes I've had so far. I'm unsure if I should SORN the car to stop the need for insurance in the short term, or to look at renewing/getting a new policy on the hope the car can be repaired, anyone been in a similar situation or can offer advice on it? thanks

If there is a chance of it being written off and if you done require the car i would wait to see what they say before taking out a new policy.

Dont forget though if your insurance or tax expires you must SORN it.
