Just had a notification from First Utility, announcing that they are reducing tariffs to four. This means eliminating the cheapest tariff - the one I was on! This is the second time they have done this to me. When I started with them, direct debits were £42 p.m. They then found they were making a loss so my payments have shot up to include my paying for their miscalculation . Caveat Emptor! Will now look at switching yet again!

Making a loss?

Paying by DD does not mean you can use what you like, and the energy company has to take a hit if you use more than you've paid for.

If you want to pay £42, and don't want this to increase, you better make sure you're only using £42 a months worth of energy.
