Difference between conveyancing file and transfer plan

Hi!
Would anyone be kind enough to explain to me what's the difference between a conveyancing file and a transfer document?
In case of a dispute about what was included in the sale (in terms of land/boundary features) which document has more importance?

What do you mean by "conveyancing file"?
Are you referring to a Land Registry file plan and a plan on a transfer deed referred to in the registered title?
File plans are based on 1:1250 or 1:2500 OS extracts and the features shown on them may not be up to date.
When a property is first registered the LR will use an OS extract which might not show a shed at the end of the garden which was put up after the extract was prepared. LR is only interested in the boundaries so will not be concerned or even know about a shed.
If the house is extended later then this will not show on the file plan until LR gets a set of new OS extracts for the area and updates the plans.
If you buy a new house the LR file plan may simply show an empty area but the transfer deed from the builder may show much more detail. This is all quite standard.RICHARD WEBSTER

I am not really sure what I am referring to, to be honest. We are having a boundary issue and we sent to the solicitor the transfer document. However, she is requesting to see the "conveyancing file" to check what the intentions were when the property was sold.
I thought that what we bought is what is detailed in the transfer document, but now I don't know if that's case anymore.
Do you know what would be in a "conveyancing file" that is not in the transfer document?

It is the file built up during the conveyancing process of all the documents involved. If you did the conveyancing yourself, you must have a file?
If you used a solicitor, they will have a file.
It ay have documents that are relevant, or which assist in determining theboundat.
as Richard says, the Tile plan is not a brilliant scale, so other documents might be helpful.0 -

If you bought a part of a larger area then it is possible that dimensions of the area to be sold off were agreed (different from those shown on transfer plan) and that kind of information is on the file. Along shot because you would have to prove that the transfer didn't represent your agreement, but worth looking into a bit.RICHARD WEBSTER

That's what I thought! The info on the transfer plan is in our favour and I would expect that to be the contract.
