Building Surveyor

I am currently buying a flat which has a share of the freehold, there are 5 flats in total in the house and I am looking for some advice.
The surveyor has come back with potential problems which may be my reponsibility or maybe the freehold's resoponsibility. I am currently obtaining independent quotes on the potential problems and my solicitor is investigating whose ultimate responsible for the repairs. I understand evry lease is different.
If the solicitor comes back that the problems are the feeehold responsibilitie, ie all of the flats, how can I ensure that the problem will be resoloved and all flats pay for the probelms. I don't want to purchase the flat, move in and then the other flats refuse to resolve or pay for the problems outlined on the surveyor.
Thanks and confused.....

It's what owning a flat is all about - you need to share much of the responsibilities between you.
If you have a managing agent, they are responsible for collecting money. We sort of worried about with the last flat that we owend but everyone joined together and just put their money in very quickly with no questions.
It's about working together. Buildings need maintenance, that's a fact

Thanks for the advice,it's good avdvice. Still worried though whether the other flats will want or have the money for the repairs.
Waiting for the quotes to come back. A week seems such a long time.

If the other flats are owner occupied you've got a chance of getting the money.
If they are rented out there is much less chance.0 -
There was a rented flat in our block. That was what we worried about, but luckily, no problems.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
