First Utility

How do other members find the energy company First Utility? I have experienced nothing but hassle. Incorrect bill last year; £20 compensation for telephone calls lasting up to 3h. No bill October, November and December. Another incorrect bill this February. Regarding the last bill I spoke to customer services about why my submitted readings are not used. They estimated the bill which was a cool £50 more than the actual bill should have been. Seems as if the department that receives customers' bill submissions doesn't talk to the billing department! Got apologies with promise that a new bill will be sent out. I am considering leaving when my dual fuel fix runs out this September. I would gladly pay a little more for my energy than have to put up with this organisation. So a warning that cheapest isn't best. How have other money savers found First utility? Is this grounds for complaint to Energy Ombudsman?
Regards.

Ombudsman's customer service is as bad as First Utility's, no wonder the energy business has a bad reputation.0

Yes, had similar issues, left hand doesn't know what the right is doing. They will catch up with themselves eventually but it can take a few weeks in my experience.Make £2018 in 2018 Challenge - Total to date £2,1080

Thanks for the reply. It seems I'm not alone!0

I have left them due to the shocking customer service.
I wont bore anyone with the long stories, but no bills, overestimates, no payments taken, different periods of bills amongst many examples.
I mentioned the company at work and it seems I am not alone in my experience.
I left in January and have been paying my new supplier since the beginning of February. Yesterday I received a bill for the full month of Feb. Seems I cannot even leave without problems.0
