Ford Fiesta service cost

Hi all,
My wifes 1 year old Fiesta is due for a service. Mileage stands at 3,500. Ford have sent me a text to get it booked in. Obviously a main dealer is going to be expensive. How much should I be looking to pay and what do I need to do to ensure my warranty isn't invalidated because it's on a 2 year options deal.
Many thanks,
Richard.

You can have it serviced at an independent so long as they use genuine ford parts and your warranty will be unaffected, however, you stand much more chance of getting good will repairs if you stick within the dealer network for servicing
Not sure what the 2 year options thing is? Is it a PCP deal or something?
First service is nothing more than an oil and filter change, which using genuine parts is around £23 for the oil and no more than about £6 for the filter.
Worth phoning around local ford garages. Quotes differ from garage to garage, so you might get the servicing price down if you're willing to have a ring around some more ford dealers.0 -
Thanks for the reply. I've just called Polar Ford to get the exact cost and they've quoted £185.00. I then just called a local garage I use for my Audi. They've said if I buy the Ford parts and bring them along they'll charge £40 for the 1 hour labour. Result. Next question is, where can I buy the correct oil and genuine Ford filter from? Are these the only 2 parts which need replacing at this service on the 1.0 ecoboost Fiesta?0

Check your documents you have with the car. There will be a service schedule there somewhere telling you what is included, but first service is usually just oil and filter.
Filter here: http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_fiesta_oil_filter_10l_ecoboost__f_5015485_c_1170.htm
Oil: http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_5w30_formula_f_engine_oil_5lts_f_1502266_c_1044.htm
(You need to double check this is the right oil but if you supply your VIN number on the website, they will confirm). It just gives you an idea of prices0 -
If you have an Options PCP and intend on handing the car back, or changing without paying the balance check the small print. PCPs I have had contract you to use amain dealer for servicing. If the car isn't serviced in line with the PCP agreement you could be charged for breaking the terms and conditions at the end of the lease should you choose not to keep the car.
That said £185 is more than I would pay for a Fiesta service - haggle them down.0
