hi
Not sure if this is in the right place but if anyone can direct me? my partner booked a travelodge online in september last year and somehow got directed on to complete save .com. unaware of this she has been paying £10 a month since and has only just noticed this. This was not something she wanted or agreed to she has cancelled it now , but is there any way she can get her money back ?
Many thanks for your help

It is something she will have agreed to, unfortunately. Somewhere in the T&Cs there will have been a line something like 'you agree to let us take a tenner from you each month' and she will just have clicked 'Agree'. She might be able to get the money back from the bank if she can argue that she was misled but it will be hard to prove. How did she get redirected to this dodgy website in the first place? It might be useful to highlight this scam to other users of MSE.
Also, between us MSE-ers, I've found when booking Travelodge, Ibis, Premier Inn and similar chains, I have never been able to get a cheaper rate on any third-party site (whether it be Expedia, Booking.com or even LastMinute) than when I go through the hotel directly. Their official website will always show you their lowest fee - and you have the added peace of mind of having booked through the official channels.0
