Eon duel fuel

Beware, I have found out today that since signing up for one single direct debit payment for my duel fuel, I've actually just been paying for the elecricity alone.......over the last two years! Eon are now looking into it and although they kept sending me an invoice for gas/elecric used and my predicted payment for the coming year, they will more than likely send me a rather large bill for unknowingly not paying for the gas.....well done eon!

I'm not sure I really fully understand
When you have been receiving your bills, has this shown you both the gas and electricity charges?
If this is the case then it sounds like you have a OneBill and the payments should be covering both.
Although, you say you're now expecting a large gas bill, does this mean we've not sent you one of 2 years for the gas?
You can have a dual fuel account but the gas and electricity on separate bills.
I understand we're looking in to it for you, but if you need any help let me know

Hi Helena, yes I've been recieving a statement with both gas and electric break down on it, although it does not state my direct debit payments.
I contacted Eon and they stated that although I am on the system as a duel fuel customer and they are supplying both gas and electric, it appears that since 2011 when they offered me a single direct debit for both instead of one for each, they have only collected money for the electric!

So we have been billing the gas, but not collecting a Direct Debit.
It sounds like although you have a dual fuel account, the gas and electricity are on separate account numbers, so we need to join them on to one and re-calculate the Direct Debit to cover both.

How have you not noticed that the amount on the bill does not match the amount being taken by Direct Debit - for 2 years?0 -
Hi Andy, I've not looked or checked till now as I've just been supplying meter readings as requested and eon have been sending me a summery of my bill saying I do not need to do anything as they will adjust direct debit as required.
It was only on this latest bill I noticed the lack of gas useage/summery breakdown then queried it.0 -

This doesn't really apply to energy at all, but it really is worth checking your bank statement - I'm no expert but I believe most still send out statements monthly at no extra cost.0 -

If it's just the latest statement, could this be a re-bill just for the electricity? Where we have previusoly billed to an estimate and now up to an actual.
