Hi,
Has anyone got any recent experience with applying for a mortgage with the Halifax? I'm looking for a rough idea on timescales really.
Thanks

My last application was submitted on 24 February and offered on 28 February. No idea how long it might take to get a valuation done in your area. The property was in B31 for this case.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I applied, was approved within a week, and then the valuation was done within another week.
Four weeks later, we're hoping to complete on Friday

Our full application was done on the 8th of January and offer was issues on the 21st, obviously after valuation had been completed and returned to the lender.0

28 days ours tookDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

We applied on the phone and we were approved that day - we bank with the Halifax and have another mortgage with them. Also, we are in process of buying house (offer accepted on Monday) - Halifax have already arranged survey for tomorrow!
Only issue I ever have with Halifax is repeating your story several times until you get to the right department to deal with whatever stage you are at!0
