They do. Residential fee is £249 and BTL £499.Mark_McBurney_CMME wrote: »Interesting, a former colleague now works for Connells and I was under the impression that they did not charge, though I stand corrected, so thank you, that's good to know.
Do Countrywide charge a fee, out of interest?I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Be prepared for them to get a bit rude when they don't get their way. When I refused to use their services for the fifth time I got called a "silly little girl"!!
I wouldn't touch Connells with a barge pole, when selling or buying. Shoddy tactics.First home purchased 09/08/2013

I absolutely hate Connells,
When I buying my first house that's exactly what they did, I just moved onto another house with Braxton.
And now when I have finished a tenancy with them because we are in our own house, they are not returning our deposit back with false claims
My advise is stay away from Connells.0 -
I had a similar issue last week with another company which is part of Connells. In my case the price was not dependent on using their in-house people but you might be interested to read the thread I started on it:

Not that I'm disagreeing with the rest of your post necessarily!
Yeah they charge £399 for a "Lifetime Service". I am going through the house buying process at the minute and had an issue with a broker who recommended a mortgage that when it came to application (and after paying fees) we found out that we weren't able to get it.
I am selling through Connells and so they invited me in for a chat with their MA. I spoke to her, she recommended a mortgage to me and then said "Right now onto fees". She gave me a nice glossy folder with all of the "benefits" of using them all for the low one off price of £399! That is on top of the £850 they would have got from Santander. Needless to say i thanked her for her time and got out of there.
Connells haven't been bad for me selling wise as they got me asking within 24 hours of going on the market with them however they are much more expensive than other agents in the area and just seem to try and get every last penny from you through conveyancing, solicitors, insurance .... the list goes on!0
