The HR policy specifies we have to clock out or will face disciplinary action. This was ignored by staff for years but has recently been reiterated to us and our line manager scrutinises our time reports looking for a reason to pull us up. Oh for the clocking out 1 min before end of core time:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:You don't have to clock out as the end result is the same whether you do or don't.

Due to your type of work you may only be due compensatory rest.
3. Compensatory rest
Compensatory rest breaks
Workers may be entitled to ‘compensatory rest’ if they don’t have the right to specific rest breaks. Compensatory rest breaks are the same length of time as the break (or part of it) that they’ve missed.
A worker may be entitled to compensatory rest if:- they’re a shift worker and can’t take daily or weekly rest breaks between ending one shift and starting another
- their workplace is a long way from their home (eg an oil rig)
- they work in different places which are a reasonable distance from each other
