As the attached says you are entitled to a 20 minutes break if working longer than 6 hours. This break isn't usually paid.

i.e. I work for LA 37 hours a week but I have to clock out for 30 minutes each day for a break. If I fail to clock out it will automatically deduct 30 minutes from my working day even if I have worked through my lunch break.

You don't have to clock out as the end result is the same whether you do or don't.

Do.you get time to eat? What are other people like? Just getting paid whilst you walk seems like a good deal from the horror stories.I've heard. If your work pattern is the exception, ie, everyone else works at one location, careful about rocking the boat.

i eat while working after supporting people we have to write everything down so ill eat something then. Yes i do have it good to get paid for travelling but then again i do walk miles each day to get to and from the clients houses. there are some floating staff and some staff in houses permanently theres different shifts etc. the reason im asking is because they have brought the no smoking in work hours at all and i cant afford any unpaid breaks so was wondering if i was entitled to a paid break at all. yes i know everyone thinks smoking is bad but the job can be quite stressful and emotionally draining and plus i suffer from anxiety also even my doctor advised me not to give up smoking at the minute due to anxiety levels.

Unless contractual then no to paid breaks but you are as mentioned allowed a 20 minute break for over 6 hours working.

Why do they have an issue with you smoking whilst walking, have you asked them?

well i only smoke while walking to clients houses anyway so no time taken off work hours but it says no smoking in work hours and that is classed as work hours as i get paid for it.
