I meant no offence, sorry.0 -
Why would anyone ask a question at this site in preference to established, possibly topic-specific forums ... ? Or as opposed to googling it?
Hi Googler,
It's a valid question, thanks!
We are offering incentives. So as well as asking a question you get a reward for allowing other people the chance to discuss that question. True, Google Is Your Friend, but imagine if Google started offering you 5p every time you searched or did something useful. Hmmmm to coin a phrase "Earn and Learn"
Its our aim to help people have a little fun, meet people, make a little money and earn something at the same time.
The marketing side of things is in the works.
Thanks for your input, its appreciated.0 -
Who would be clicking on the ads? Would members be asking and answering questions, then people searching for info on these topics find the site and relevant page, going on to possibly click an ad on that page?
Sorry if I'm being dopey here, I'm a little confused on that part.
Out of my mind. Back in five minutes.0 -

The way the ads are meant to work (least as far as google goes) is that they should display something related to the content on the page. So a page on how to cook a certain meal, for example, would maybe have ads from a shop that sells the ingredients listed.
It would require members to be clicking on the ads - although the site would not be able to tell users to click on them. If questions are viewable by non-members then yes, anyone would be able to click the ads.0 -

While this is mostly true, I have to point out that no-one HAS to click anything they don't want to. Members make money because their ads are in a 75% rotation and could be clicked by anyone, member or no.0 -

To be honest - I think this is a way to get banned very quickly off google ads, I know it has been mentioned but your basicly paying people a percentage of your ad reveune..and with that you take the risk of them abusing YOUR google ad account.
This is all assuming you are using google ads...
I think you should re think the way you 'pay' people as giving people incentive to muti click on ads (even if your rules are very strict if one person does it your black listed on google)
Your right, I would love to use a search engine or question site that pays me - but it would have to be simple and easy to use, I think your over complicating it.People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -

Of course. I never meant it to sound like people are forced to, just that people would need to in order for any money to be made.Kayalana99 wrote: »To be honest - I think this is a way to get banned very quickly off google ads, I know it has been mentioned but your basicly paying people a percentage of your ad reveune..and with that you take the risk of them abusing YOUR google ad account.

I agree with the risking your own account if you're not careful because people could abuse it simply by asking others to click on their ads and doing so themselves. However, many sites do make money through ads and pay out and most probably won't realise it's the ads getting them money even if you state that. So it's just a case of being aware of the problem and making sure it can't happen.
If you lose the account you won't get a second chance.
Nothing said so far suggests that using the site isn't easy. It's the running and creation of the site that is more complicated. There's a lot to doing a site like this. For using it; answer question, get points. Ask question, get money. Not difficult.0 -

Hi Kayalana,
There's nothing very complex about the site, it's been made very simple and intuitive to use. A LOT of man hours have gone into that.
As for getting other people to click on Adsense ads, that isn't my problem, it's Google's. Every member will be using their own Google-granted publisher ID, against their own personal Adsense accounts. So the only accounts getting banned for suspicious activity would be their own. And as the ads are in a 75% rotation (so their ads are only shown 75% of the time) no-one could even be sure when their ads would be shown, nor would they be easily able to identify them as they were displayed. The account owner could identify them while logged in, true, but it would require a LOT of effort to try and deceive Google, and first they would have to deceive our clickfraud system. I've been using Adsense for years, and believe me, I know there are people trying to game the system, but 99% of the time, they fail. Adsense is a multi billion dollar platform and Google invests VERY heavily in it's protection.
Also, as I said, we are using a click fraud protection system, so we are preventing people using their accounts on our site to cheat.

Don't mean to sound a smart Alec, but I've had 2 accounts.
Its been made very clear that trying to deceive Google with fake clicks is a doomed endeavour.
That said, we are protected because all user advertising is done through their own Adsense publisher IDs against their own personal accounts. Plus we have security in place to detect unusual behaviour. And even if someone DOES manage to deceive Google, it isn't our problem as we are not financially or personally invested in another person's Adsense account.
And there would be no reason to try and tamper with someone else's account, as that doesn't make the tamperer any money!0 -

You never said own google accounts before - that changes things. How are you taking 25% off people for ads as the money would be going directly to the members google account. Cashing out and all that would be nothing to do with you, it would all be through google.
What exactly is the ad rotation then? You place a members ad code on a random page?0
