Extending Wi-fi Signal and keeping a decent speed

OK, on the back of the Home Plug having a problem because of wiring (on another thread), my other option which resolves 2 issues is how to extend my wi-fi signal to the bedroom/office in a bungalow about 33' distance from the router without speed issues.
I have Talk-Talk BB with Medium Fibre on a Huawei HG533 router, which is situated in the Lounge, to try to extend the signal I have a Huawei WS530 wi-fi repeater, which it does, but speed loss seems to be a big problem. The wi-fi printer appears to cope, and the laptop to some degree, but the desktop, on the floor under the desk, struggles more, and the Smart TV does not want to know.
Without spending an arm and a leg, does anyone ave any other options? or alternatives?
Thanks folks
DG

I've lost track of how many locations need to be connected to your router I'm afraid. Can you summarise your locations and the equipment (wired and/or wireless).0

Router in the lounge, used for ipad, Sky catchup, and laptop via wi-fi.
Bedroom/Office 30' away in a bungalow. Desktop, Smart TV, Printer.
Currently router is Huawei HG533, and I have an extender Huawei WS320, signal not bad if I use the laptop in there, desktop, slow, printer OK, Smart TV will not connect to wi-fi, does find the network, but a minimal signal, but will not connect.
The TV used as a monitor.

A number of options:- (using existing kit)
1. For simplicity I'd try
http://www.solwise.co.uk/net-powerline-av-pew-n.htm (**)
in the bedroom (with one net-x connected connected to your router). This will give you wireless and 2 wired connections (for SmartTV and Desktop).
2. use both net-x devices (one at router one in the bedroom) and add to it a cheap wireless router/switch. This will connect to the bedroom net-x via a cable and provide wired and wi-fi connection
a. takes an extra power socket
b. cheaper
c. possibly complicated to set up
(**) ring solwise and ask if their device will work with the net-x (get as many details of the net-x before you ring). I think its an HomePlug AV 1.0 (Intellon INT6300)
I'm out for a few hours but others will help I'm sure.0 -
If feasible... you could always use an extended telephone cable (RJ11) to relocate your router somewhere more central within the house. This would be the cheapest way to deal with this and result in a greater coverage within the home. But as mentioned above, without knowing where your router is in relation to the rest of your house, it's a bit tricky to suggest cost-efficient ideas.0

Hard wire a couple of Wireless access points. Theyre about 30 quid a piece from maplin and you can power them via PoE. You'll then get Wifi all around your home and you'll get good connectivity - the signal degradation is minimal in comparison to wifi range extenders....which tend to be poor and unreliable and lose too much connectivityTo have integrity means that you don't agree with everyone you meet, nor do you succumb to pressure to be something that is in direct conflict with your core ethics.0

OK I have spent the time trying various different plugs in the bedroom, to see if I could find one with compatible wiring, but have failed. The plug will work side by side, not in the bedroom, so a HomePlug option will not work.
I cannot move the router via a telephone cable, as it is fibre, with a longer ethernet cable then I can maybe move the router itself a metre or a metre and a half nearer the back of the house. Bungalow, 44'(ish) long, sorry I know the size in old money, router about 3' from the front, office/bedroom at the back!
acs could you put this into less techy language pls.
Thanks

You should be able to move the router to anywhere using the correct cabling. The cable that goes from your wall to the Modem can be replaced with one of any length. Or you can, as you suggest, use a longer Ethernet cable....You can get really long ones, so more than a couple of meters should be achievable.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

I used to use a cheap wifi extender but ended up solving all coverage issues by using a Homeplug to move wifi router to centre point of house with a view through back window to cover garden.0
