Investment Ideas

Hi I have around £80,000 to invest and can't seem to get a decent return from a bank account etc. Just wondering what advice people have to get a good return. Many Thanks.

    And you are not alone - interest rates are low and for the most part pay a rate after tax that is below inflation.

    If you are in need of a better return, then you will need to consider stock market investment but remember that this involves the possibility of risk to capital and

    You might consider equity income/ bond/ mixed asset funds?

    You can get most of it into current to accounts paying 3% or more, which is no risk and an alternative to savings account paying less than half that.

    Impossible to say unless we know how long you intend to remain invested, whether you're likely to need this money in a hurry, whether you'll panic if the capital value falls by 25% or even 50%, and what you tax situation is regards income, dividends and capital gains.
