Funeral plan or Isa?
Cuckooclock
We both have an Isa with our funeral money in & are wondering wether to get Funeral plans instead. I was quite shocked when I found out how much funeral cost are, compared with when my Mum died.
The reason I am asking here is because I wonder would it be treated as savings should one of us ever need to claim Pension credit etc.
We hoped never to be in this position, but things are so expensive lately it might be one day.

I think funeral plans are great as they 'lock in' the amount of money you pay and beat inflation. (Don't go for the insurance type one though)
Also they do not count as savings and not seen as deprivation of capital for benefit purposes.
And ISAs are counted as savings as regards means tested benefits.0 -
Thank You that is exactly what I wanted to know.0
