Vodafone / Verizon sell off

New to this so here goes.
After trawling through the War and Peace Vodafone sent out prior to vote and looking online I am still confused about what I am getting and in what format.
My Vodafone share entitlement has reduced to 6 for every 11 owned. I get that.
however, I have received two payments into my bank this morning. I was expecting one for 'Return of Value' but the second smaller figure was unexpected and not indicated in the guide sent out. I have sent an email to Computershare but any thoughts would be appreciated.
also i opted to sell the Verizon shares allocated but not sure if they will be supplied via a cheque or electronically. Assuming the prior as I never supplied any bank details on the original voting forms.
Any financial gurus out there able to comment please...

The smaller figure will likely be fractional entitlements. This will be the combined total of money that could not be consolidated in to "new" Vodafone shares (ie. if your number of "old" Vodafone shares divided by 11 and multiplied by 6 was not a whole number) and the same for Verzion, if the number of Verizon shares you should have received based on your VOD shares was not a whole number. Since they couldn't credit fractions of shares, these are returned as their cash value. This is everybody's fault but mine.0

That sounds reasonable, the verizon worked out to something like .68 remainder. Appreciate the response.0

The fact this hit your bank suggests you hold unwrapped (not in ISA or SIPP). Note that calculating your base price for holdings of new VOD and VZ is pretty complex. I can point you to a very handy thread of Motley Fool if this is something you need.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
