Zoosk is completely useless

Options
'A freind of mine' has been on this site but it seems quite useless. Not in dating profiles but in justa basic searches and who is online and searches etc. And I ,Ahem. HE actually paid to join. What a mug.

I'm fed up with these sites that say that they are free when they are only free up to the point that you try to make contact with someone
I Joined Zoosk supposedly for free. I added photos and lots of info about myself
I went through their so called carousel and even winked at a couple of ladies I thought were nice. Then I started getting messages from them so they must have been interested in me too
Its only when you try to read them, let alone reply that you discover the real cost.
Everything is interrupted by a screen asking you to to subscribe. at a cost od £22.74 a month or £47.94 for 3 months or £71.94 for 6 months
I was almost tempted since one of the ladies interested me a lot but I'm damned if I'm going to pay £22.74 to find out if it would lead somewhere.
I've been signed up to Twoo who do allow you so many real contacts before asking you to pay. Well I've sent messages to lots of different women who looked compatible and not one serious reply.
Without some kind of free trial or a substantial discount I'm not prepared to throw money away to find out the same thing with Zoosk. Why should it be any better than Twoo?
    So Zoosk is not free
Free to register and spend half an hour filling stuff in but not free to Subscribe and actually be able to meet online
Just mention Facebook or twitter or an email address and your profile gets hidden till a mod checks it out and removes any contact details you added

Tinder doesn't have a URL, it is a smartphone app.

    Just a thought,

A website that charges a subscription is more likely to attract genuine folk looking for love than one that is free that any chancer/married person/drunkard can sign up to after a few ales.

Not fool proof, but what is?

Match.com is the way to go, not zoosk or POF etc

how much do you spend on a date to see if it would lead somewhere?
    Been away for a while.
  • Whilst it's true in theory that you're probably likely to find more committed people on a subscription site like Match, I've actually found that I've had about the same amount of success on OKCupid and POF as that.

The same rules apply across all of them though- as a guy, you're going to need to do something to make your profile stand out, and as a woman, you're going to have to filter through a lot of crap 'hi hun how r u' messages.

I'd certainly say POF and OKCupid are worth considering if you don't want to pay. Just be prepared to put at least a little time in, otherwise you won't get anything back.

I agree, I have only ever met people through the free sites OKCupid and POF, and Tinder. I had no luck whatsoever with Match, EHarmony, or other paid sites. Also agree you have to filter through the rubbish, give it time and patience, and put a little work in!

From what i know of Tinder it's not really used for finding relationships, if you get what i mean

I did briefly try it but spent so much time swiping away at people who didn't interest me i quickly got bored.

I ended up finding a free site more suited to me (please don't laugh but it was a site aimed at alternative/goth/emo people :rotfl: ). Worked though as i now have a lovely bf :D

I did try out okcupid and POF but had no luck this time round, last time i met my ex on POF but couldn't find anyone i felt an attraction to this time. I've always been adamant i wouldn't use a paid site though.

I thought that about Tinder too but actually I only ever had dates from there - and I never took any of them home! Obviously it is based on initial attraction but I do think people use it for more than casual hook-ups.
