Landlord doesnt fix problems in house

In June I took a house for rent for a year from a landlord. While moving
in all the problems and repairs needed were noted by the tenant as well as
landlord.
A month has passed and landlord hasnt fixed ,despite repeated calls and his
visits to our house. He justs says it will be done and done.
What can be done in this situation as a tenant.

You should write them a series of letters basically telling them that if they can't arrange for the things to be fixed then you will happily do it yourself and deduct the money from that month's rent.
I need a new front door and I said this before I moved in. I think they had to forcably remove some tenants as the door doesn't fit at all well. With all the rain I am acquiring pets. Last night it was a slug. Sometimes it's a worm or two.
Left a message this week again for LL, next week I will write the first letter.
Here's some proper guidance:

All good and well but the rental payments are agreed on contract. The LL must be given a reasonable length of time. The OP moved in during June. Crikey, it's 1st July and the work isn't completed.
Sometimes it can be difficult to get as tradesman. Depending on the nature of the work required, 2 - 3 months might be considered reasonable IMHO. More urgent work may need to be done with 24 hours.

Perhaps if a landlord were to communicate words to that effect to a tenant instead of ignoring them, it mightn't feel so much like banging your head against a wall.
The route recommended by Shelter gives the LL ample opportunity to arrange repairs themselves.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Are you talking about your situation?
As I understand it, The landlord isn't ignoring the OP.
The landlord has spoke on the phone and visited the property?Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
doesn't seem like that long a time yet, depends on what the problems are, when they were notified. Are the problems serious?0

Is he white or an ethnic minority? I'd be mighty suspicious about any 'promises' from a person from the minorities...0 -

Try your local Council for advice. I know in Birmingham the Council have a private tenancy section. Or if you are a student try the students union.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0
