Baxi Solo HE18
Hi,
Can anyone out there advise on the following, if you are gas safe engineer even better (hint hint!!)....
Am potentially looking to purchase a Baxi Solo HE18 boiler and I am looking to find out what 'controls' are available for this in regards to having a timer (So that I can obviously set the time on when the boiler goes on and off etc). Also any feedback on the boiler in general.
Thanks in advance.

Here are the installation instructions
http://www.baxi.co.uk/documents/solo-he-a-installation-instructions.pdf
You can see from Section 6 (page 14) you can associate it with a lot of different control systems - probably only limited by your own imagination or requirements. Most boilers & heating systems are coupled to controls from a another manufacturer (Eg Honeywell, Drayton, Danfoss, Salus, Heatmiser etc) and so you have to decide in conjunction with your installer how complex a system you want and how much you are prepared to pay.
Have a look at the control manufacurer's websites to see whats available and how much they cost.
You can even remote control it over the internet using your mobile phone if that's what you want.
I'd recommend that you install a programmable thermostat which will give you better control of the heating temperatures at different times of the day rather than a bog standard programmer & dumb thermostat
In the end all the controls do is turn the boiler on & off when heat is required - the clever bit isn't inside the boiler it's in the central heating and external control systemNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
