Hi there folks.

I've been issued with a parking charge notice by Euro Car Parks. I have 14 days from the 27/2/14 to be able to pay this off at a reduced rate (so by the 10/3/14).

I was hoping to follow the guides one here and hopefully save myself some money.

I received the parking fine in England in a pub car park. I wasn't aware of the need for a ticket to park, as I was parked to use their pub, so a bit miffed, but I know now!

I have contacted the pub awaiting their response.

So if this goes bad for me, I should then contact Euro Car Parks and follow the POPLA route correct?

Hopefully I'll soon know how my request to have it squashed goes and I'll then

If the response from the pub isn't forthcoming then don't delay in submitting your appeal to Euro Car Parks - see the sticky forum for guidance on the contents of the appeal (https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822).

Even if you are in the process of appealing the pub can still get the PCN cancelled.

If (I really mean when) Euro Car Parks reject your appeal they will give you a POPLA code, come back here again for advice on that, and there is a lot contained within the sticky thread.

Yep try the complaint first and - as long as you are the registered keeper - wait for the NTK in March if you haven't got the postal Notice yet.

Hang on - he should delay the appeal if it's only a windscreen invoice so far.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Currently I have received the parking charge notice via my windscreen only.

This states that I can pay £40 within 14 days or £70 within 28 days.

I emailed the pub on the 3.3.14. Currently awaiting a reply. Shall I do anything direct with Euro Car Parks yet in way of an appeal, or sha I hod fire as of yet...as I think you both think different things!

If Euro Car Parks don't hear from me, will they start to send postal correspondence to me?

They have to send a notice to keeper, so don't appeal to them until it arrives
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Nope, it tells that to the DRIVER. But you are the keeper so you don't necessarily even have that PCN.

You will be appealing as the KEEPER so you wait for your postal 'Notice to Keeper' in April(ish) and then the keeper sends the template letter in the NEWBIES thread. This is easy.

  • An update:

The pub have replied in writing saying that they own the car park but it is operated by Euro Car Parks on their behalf. They say that they can't assist any further.

I'm still waiting for any postage from ECP.

Well I call b*llsh*t on that. They employ Euro Car Parks. They will have a way to cancel tickets/exempt cars. Otherwise how do staff park there. What they mean is they can't be bothered.

Is it a national company? Have you tried their facebook presence if so?

  • It's a national pub chain yes. If they aren't interested, they simply aren't interested.

So I believe that I'm now waiting by the door for ECP's guff to drop through the letter box.
  • Right, today I received the notice to keeper via the post.

So now I respond to Euro Car Parks with a 'soft appeal'. Just stating that I shouldn't' have it? I then wait for their reply via post again. Ask for the POPLA code and go onwards from there?
