BMW X3 Diesel and DPF?
Hi All
have been musing for some time of buying an SUV (please dont all shout at me, i know its not needed but i like them) but the majority of the petrol are £475 tax
I only do 6000 miles a year and like the X3, and the 2006 diesel would be in budget and lower car tax, but does it suffer DPF issues and so am i restricted to a 1.6 or 1.8 (Qashqui or ASX or Tuscan) or would this be ok??
thanks all

But what are those 6000 miles ? A daily kerb crawl round the neighbourhood or a weekly blast down to the coast , that is what makes the DPF a problem or not . If you can give the engine a decent fast run out at least every 3 weeks you will be OK.You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0

Just buy the petrol- you only do 6000 miles a year.0

The petrol might be £475 to tax, but the savings on getting the diesel could be wiped out in one repair cost!
The petrol should be much cheaper to buy than the diesel, due to the fact people do not want big gas guzzlers with high tax.
6k miles is nothing

i know what your saying is correct, but this month the tax runs out on my car so its either change now or wait another 6 months so i guess i am becoming doubting thomas

You don't have to buy now? Tax your current car for 6 or 12 months, and then if and when you want to change your car, cash the remaining tax in and get a refund
You don't HAVE to wait another 6 months
